Information: The machines serial number does indicate a 23" wheel
machine, however the grind zone measures enough clearance for 30"
wheels. This machine was custom built for GM for a particular job and
we suspect the base is the standard 30" The machine is equipped with
23" diameter superabrasive CBN wheels that are trued with a powered
diamond roll cutter and then sharpened with an abrasive jet, (sand blaster).
The machine was equipped with a servo controlled Long Stoke Pusher Feeder
"LSPF" (Which is missing). This directs one part at a time
across the face of the grinding wheels. The parts are loaded, one at a
time into a workholder by a pneumatic load cylinder. The
workholder travels between the grinding wheel wheels and the part is ejected
at the rear of the machine by a pneumatic unload cylinder. After
ejection from the machine, the part rolls down the exit chute where the
customer's automation then took over. The machine has the
same guides and guide adjusters as a thru-feed grinder but would need the
belt feeder unit plus the top and bottom guides. This machine also
has auxiliary DC spindle drive motors that rotate the grinding wheels at
a slower speed during the sharpening and truing sequences. The machine is controlled by an
Allen Bradley PLC 2/30 programmable controller. The machine is able to
grind one piece at a time in the "Setup Cycle mode, or provide fully
automatic continuous operation when placed into "Run Cycle" mode. The plasma display on the
operator station is missing and would need to be replaced. It appears that
all other electrical components are in tack. It also appears that all the
electrical drawings are with the machine. We also have the complete
operating, setup, maintenance manual plus floorplan and tooling
prints. |
